PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Release the bats! And the black cats, and the pumpkins.

After a few boring months, quilt-wise (face it, who makes a Labor Day quilt?) we’re finally heading into the best months for quilt-making, decorating, and giving. Holiday quilts don’t have to match your color scheme or decor, and Halloween quilts let you get a little goth, quirky or silly, even if that’s not your normal quilt style.

This month’s free pattern comes from the blog Scattered Thoughts of a Crafty Mom. Her Pumpkin Placemat Pattern makes a block that can be a placemat or a wall hanging. Or, make 6 or 12 for a quilt.

NOMINATING COMMITTEE

The nominating committee will form in October:

1st Vice President (Debi Cypert) and Membership Chair (Holli Blackwell) are automatically on the committee, plus three members to be elected.

OCTOBER PROGRAM

The October program will be exploring our block-setting options.  We have so many options!  Do we need sashing or setting blocks or a secondary design?  Let’s see if we can come up with something new.
