Good Morning Everyone!
Hope everyone had a nice Mother’s Day.   I am in the process of getting my projects together to take to the retreat this coming weekend.  I am really looking forward to being an ole sew and sew all weekend long.   This will be my second retreat but  definitely not my last.   The Arlington Quilt show was fun to see and gives  great inspiration to get busy and finish those quilts.   See everyone at the next meeting and hopefully will have something to “show and tell.”
Happy Quilting Everyone.

Susan Hamilton: June 17
Grace Norris: June 19

We had a great time at retreat this past weekend. Ten of us ended up going, and we didn’t let a little (a lot) of rain stop us from having a good time.  We did lots of shopping, eating and sewing.  We also had a birthday party for Sue.  She was surprised, but it was difficult keeping it from her!  If you haven’t heard the story about the cake in the closet, be sure to ask someone who went to retreat.  That story is bound to be one that we tell for a long time!!

We have booked our next two retreats.  The fall retreat is scheduled for October 22 – 24, 2010.  Cost will be $40 per person per night plus tax.  This does not include any food.  If you are interested in going, I need your deposit at our June 7th Guild meeting.  Our spring retreat will be May 13 – 15, 2011 and will also be $40 per person per night plus tax.  I will collect deposits for that in December.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

We’re excited to announce that Peggy from Peggy’s Quilt Studio in Arlington will be joining us June 7 to present the program.  She will tell us about her shop and show us some neat projects.  We’ve also asked her to bring some things from her shop that will be available for you to purchase.  It should be a fun evening and we hope you will join us.

Elisabeth McMahon & Shirley Lewis

Our next workshop is Saturday, June 5th from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church.  This is our “Stashbusting Workshop.” If you signed up, you should have received a pattern from me.  If you don’t want to work on the pattern I provided, feel free to come and bring your own “stashbusting pattern” and take the opportunity to sew with us.  If you signed up, but can’t come to the workshop, please call or email me as soon as possible.  If I know you are not coming, I won’t set up a space for you.  If you would like to come, but didn’t sign up, please let me know that as well so that I can set a space for you.

Please bring a potluck dish to share for lunch.

Our next workshop will be a charity workshop this summer.  We’ll  use Grace’s strips and put together the blocks for quilts to give away.  I’ll have a firm date soon.

If you have any questions, please let me know.
