PRESIDENT’S CORNER

The “end” of summer is almost upon us. I know we usually have warm weather until October, but the traditional end of summer is Labor Day. This year has just flown by!

Did you go to the Plano Quilt Show? It was a great show. We went to the show and then proceeded to shop hop to four quilt shops in Plano and McKinney. All of them had sales going on or they had coupons in the Plano Quilt Show program or the Texas Association of Quilt Guilds Rally Day program. Of course, I bought something at each store and I think the people with me bought items at some or all of the shops.

The next quilt show is the Original Sewing Expo in Arlington. The website lists over 90 vendors going to that show. I am anxious to see what this show is all about.

Don’t forget to make your mug rug for the September meeting, and I hope you are working on your half square triangle challenge project for November.

Create something wonderful this month and don’t forget to bring it to show and tell! Don’t forget
that each month you bring something for show and tell your name goes into a drawing to be
held the end of the year (one entry per month – regardless of the number of items you show that month).

VISITORS & NEW MEMBERS

Welcome to our August visitors, Sharon, Patsy and Pat. We hope you will come back for our September meeting. Welcome also to Janet Ward. She renewed her membership at our August meeting.

SEPTEMBER PROGRAM

I want to thank Michelle, Shirley, Evelyn and Debi again for their participation in teaching us during our Schoolhouse event in August. It was fun being able to see everyone so interested in what they had to teach us!

September will be our Mug Rug challenge month! Please make sure to read the separate email I am having Paco send out to everyone for rule specifics as well as the list of who I have participating. If you did not sign up or do not see your name, please email me at customerservice@angelsandmoore.com by September 1 (the Friday before our next meeting) to let me know if you would like to participate! Please make sure you read that additional email!
